There’s only one thing better than playing games and that’s collecting every piece of merchandise tied to them. There was nothing like flipping through your favorite gaming magazine and seeing a profile of a limited edition collectible or discovering a piece of memorabilia from a beloved game in an overlooked corner of a shop and it’s a feeling we strive to replicate every month as we look through our own collector’s cabinet and dig out items new and old to show the world. Gaming fans come in all ages. Whereas games were once considered a form of entertainment for children exclusively, that stereotype has since faded and many are adults with a home they’d like to decorate. Posters are great and all, but sometimes folks want something a bit fancier for their home decor. That’s where Level Up Labs come in with their line of Pixel Frames. Pixel Frames are framed pieces of artwork featuring a variety of classic video games. These art pieces are not simply a nicely-framed poster. One thing that makes Pixel Frames stand out is that they are shadow boxes with three layers to each design. It doesn’t take much to ruin an otherwise great photo. That could mean there’s someone you don’t want in the background or a distracting, brightly colored object behind your subject that you didn’t see when you snapped the shutter. Removing these uninvited guests from images usually takes time, expensive software, and advanced knowledge of photo retouching. If you’re short on any of the above, Google wants to help that is, if you have a current Pixel. Google introduced its Magic Eraser feature with the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro, and it’s available on the Pixel 6A, too. It’s designed to address the scenarios above by removing or masking distracting elements from your photos. The results aren’t exactly, uh, magic, but they’re often pixel art background free

I'm a little ashamed to admit Elm Knight, a 1992 Japanese PC-98 action-RPG, caught my eye for the shallowest of reasons: a really cool title screen. Yeah, I knowabsolutely disgraceful behaviour. In my defence, the title screen honestly is that good. Developer: Micro Cabin Released: November 1992 Japanese PCs: FM Towns, PC-98 (Image credit: Micro Cabin, via Mobygames) The image that grabbed me and refused to let go is a portrait of an inscrutable face, drenched in shadows. It's got a threatening but not necessarily aggressive aura to it, the figure staring out of the screen sculpted in that unmistakably '90s anime "bio-armour" style. It has a person-ish body that's not quite machine, but also definitely not birthed. Even when I stop overthinking it, that single static image remains a great piece of pixel art, and I saw it as a guarantee that whatever I was about to dive into was going to look pretty good even if the rest of the game amounted to a miserable pile of nothing. "Look pretty good" is something of a massive understatement for this 30-year-old game. Elm Knight is an astonishing 10-disk epic where magical "Irregulars" fight against the fearsome might of a.

An important distinction in the eternal iPhone versus Android debate is that the iPhone is a specific brand of phone with its own operating system, iOS, while Android is only an operating system that runs on a wide variety of different phone brands and models. That said, Google, the driving force behind Android, does make its own phones and reserves certain Android features for those devices. Now more than ever, Google seems to be trying to set the standard for Android devices with its latest generation of Pixel smartphones. The Pixel 6 and 6 Pro stand as the company’s most premium phone offerings to date and even bear Google’s first semi-custom mobile SoC. Google has already given us a sneak peak at the upcoming Pixel 7 series, and we’re looking forward to seeing how the company improves upon its current generation of smartphones. However, before Google launches its next generation phones along with Android 13, the company has one more lesson to teach Android phone makers, and that’s how to make a mid-range budget phone that packs great value for the price. While the Google Pixel 6a goes on sale today, we’ve had our hands on a review unit for.
